CAUSTIC SODA FLAKES
The product introduction
Caustic soda (Sodium Hydroxide / Caustic SodaFlakes) is an alkaline material with white color and odorless. This materialwith the chemical formula, NaOH, is one of the most used chemicals in industry.Caustic soda is a dehumidifier and degreasing material and is produced in bothfood and industrial grades. When using caustic soda due to its severe corrosionproperty, the safety tips (according to MSDS available on the site) must beobserved.

The caustic soda flakes applicationin the industry
The caustic soda is one of the most used materialsin the chemical industry.
-Oil, Gas and Petrochemicalindustries
In the petrochemical industry to neutralizeand degreasing and in the oil industry for refining petroleum (oil) productsand in drilling mud in the oil field.
-Food and Agriculture Industry
Caustic soda is used in the milk and dairyindustry, canning, beverage, sweetening olives, producing chocolate and cocoaand caramel, edible oil industry and sugar mills.
-Paper Industries
Caustic soda has an essential role in thepaper industry to separate the cellulose fibers from lignin and in wood separatingand pulp production. Caustic soda is used to increase the pH in the paperfibers fermentation process. With the addition of Caustic soda to paper fibers,pH rises and makes these fibers smooth and polished and swollen which this is veryimportant in its grinding process. Caustic soda affects in whitening the brown fibersof baking process.
-Leather Industries
Caustic soda is used in the leatherIndustries after the hair removal steps and removal of non-fibrous proteins andwool from the skin surface by lime during degreasing process.
-Additional Industries
Caustic soda is also very widely used materialin other chemical and additional industries, including:
*Water and Waste water industry (to clottingheavy metals and acidity control in water treatment)
*Automotive industry and neutralizing theacid and battery-manufacturing
*Degreasers industry and other relatedindustries
*Textile industry
*Pharmacy and alcohol industry
*Cosmetics industry
*Paints and resins and adhesives industry
*Plastics industry
*Cotton industry
*Metal and plating Industries and, galvanizing, zinc, aluminum
Caustic soda production method
In this company, Caustic Soda Flakes isproduced from liquid caustic soda resulting from membranous method (porouswall), so that the liquid soda 48% to 50% entering to the production line isconverted to the caustic soda with a purity of 99-98% in a process after the existingwater evaporation which is in accordance with the universal standards. Thiscaustic soda fluid is converted to flake (white flakes) or solid soda after thetransition to Flickr and cooling machines.

Caustic soda flakes maintenancemethod
Caustic soda Flakes or solid absorbs airmoisture very quickly and deformed and is converted into liquid. For thisreason, the pack Lid is completely closed not to expose to air. In addition, due to the extremely high corrosion of this product, it should be maintained inplastic containers with lids and aluminum containers should not be used.
During transportation, Caustic soda must beunder necessary protective covers, because it reacts with many organic andinorganic materials. For example, it combines with strong acids, aromatic nitro,nitro- paraffin compounds and organo-halogen, glycols and organic Peroxides. Incombination with carbon dioxide, it is converted to sodium carbonate.
Consider the following points duringtransportation and maintenance:
1. To be kept in a dry place with goodventilation.
2. An indoor warehouse, specific to Causticsoda flakes away from incompatible materials such as acids and… should beconsidered and just in time required, the pack lid should be opened. Otherwise,it is humidified in the air due to high taking-humidity property and then itbecomes lump.
3. Danger cautions including corrosion and… shouldbe installed exposed to individual views.
4. Direct contact with sodium hydroxide andwater causes severe exothermic reaction that precautions must be taken.
5. It should be maintained in suitable labeledcontainers with lid.
6. corrosion-resistant materials should be usedin the construction of warehouses.
7. Keep away from children.
8. Face shield / eye and appropriateprotective gloves should be used.
9. In case of contact with eyes, rinse wellwith plenty of water and refer to doctor.
10. Caustic soda creates a lot of heat whendissolved in water and observing safety points is necessary in this regard.
11. Do not use the rack to move it.
Dangerousness degree of caustic soda based onNFPA classification:
Health risks: degree 3
Flammability: degree 0
Reactivity: degree 1
Quality control unit andLaboratory Unit
It is composed of trained personnel which aretrying to control and maintain the quality attributes of product to customers.
In this regard, the control takes place inthree stages:
1. raw input materials control
2. Control during processing
3. The end product control
1. input control:
At the beginning of entering raw materials tothe factory, they are sampled and tested in accordance with relevant standardsand if confirmed, they are drained inthe respective tanks.
Controlling other input materials andcomponents is carried out by laboratory unit. It should be noted that thelaboratory equipment are calibrated regularly in valid laboratories.
2. Controlling during theprocess:
In this level, sampling of differentproduction parts is done randomly and controlled.
3. The final product control:
At this stage, the final product is sampledand controlled and inspected in accordance with relevant standards in terms of theappearance control (packaging conditions), dimensional control (according to standardsand defined parameters) analysis and control (laboratory and practical tests).
Quality control unit purposes:
1. To maintain and improve quality and at thesame time to optimize energy consumption
2. to plan and obtain relevant scientific andtechnical certificates.
